The lighthouse is situated at the north end of the Tungenes headland on the tip of Stavanger Peninsula just to the north of the city of Stavanger. Tungenes Lighthouse is situated 2½ km north of Bakkane.

Svarthola is situated 2½ km south of Bakkane.
