Selja Abbey was a Benedictine monastery located on the island of Selja in Stad Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island of Selja, which has been formerly known as Sellø or Selø, is located 15 minutes by boat from the mainland village of Selje. Selja Abbey is situated 3½ km south of Rydejorda.

The peninsula is considered the dividing point between the Norwegian Sea to the north and the North Sea to the south. Stad is situated 2½ km northeast of Rydejorda.
