The 1,753-metre tall mountain is located inside the Reinheimen National Park, about 19 kilometres northwest of the village of Vågåmo and about 21 kilometres southwest of the village of Dombås. Gjerdinghøe is situated 3½ km north of Nedre Håvesætre.
