They are part of the institutions of the Belgian Federal Science Policy Office and consist of six museums: the Oldmasters Museum, the Magritte Museum, the Fin-de-Siècle Museum, the Modern Museum, the Wiertz Museum and the Meunier Museum. Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium is situated 300 metres west of Royal Palace.

The Place des Palais or Paleizenplein, meaning "Palaces' Square", is a major square in the Royal Quarter of Brussels, Belgium. Created in 1827, it is, along with the Rue de la Loi/Wetstraat, the Rue Ducale/Hertogstraat and the Rue Royale/Koningsstraat, one of the four thoroughfares surrounding Brussels Park.

The Royal Quarter is a quarter in the historic upper town of Brussels, Belgium. It is situated between Brussels Park, the Royal Palace, the Mont des Arts/Kunstberg and the Sablon/Zavel. It is an excellent example of 18th-century urban architecture.
