The University of Science and Technology – Houari Boumediene is a university located in the town of Bab-Ezzouar 15 kilometres from Algiers, Algeria. The university was designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer and was inaugurated in 1974. University of Sciences and Technology Houari Boumediene is situated 710 metres southwest of Ibis Alger Aeroport.

Named Fort de l'Eau under French rule prior to 1962, used to be a famous beach resort within the Bay of Algiers, complete with luxury hotels and a casino. Bordj El Kiffan is situated 3½ km north of Ibis Alger Aeroport.
