The mosque, built as a masjid by Selçuk Hatun in 1456, was later converted into a mosque with the addition of a minbar after the death of its imam, İbrahim Halife, who donated the money he had saved.

Sarıca Pasha Mosque or Saruca Pasha Mosque, a mosque built in the 15th century by Sarıca Paşa, who served as vizier during the reigns of Murad II and Mehmed the Conqueror, in the centre of Edirne province. Sarıca Pasha Mosque is situated 100 metres east of Selçuk Camii.
