The Al-Askari Shrine, also known as the 'Askariyya Shrine and the Al-Askari Mosque, is a Twelver Shi'ite mosque and mausoleum, located in the city of Samarra, in the Saladin Governorate of Iraq. Al-Askari Shrine is situated 740 metres northeast of Jāmi‘ Ālbū Nīsān.

The Great Mosque of Samarra or Al-Malwiya Mosque is a former congregational mosque, now in partial ruins, in Samarra, in the Saladin Governorate of Iraq. Great Mosque of Samarra is situated 1½ km northeast of Jāmi‘ Ālbū Nīsān.

The Samarra Barrage is a multi-purpose barrage on the Tigris River adjacent of Samarra and north of Baghdad, Iraq. The main purpose of the dam is to divert floodwater in the Tigris River to Lake Tharthar through the Tharthar depression along with irrigation and an 84 MW hydro-electricity station. Samarra Barrage is situated 1¼ km west of Jāmi‘ Ālbū Nīsān.
