The Al-Askari Shrine, also known as the 'Askariyya Shrine and the Al-Askari Mosque, is the mausoleums of the tenth and eleventh Shia Imams, Ali al-Hadi and Ḥasan al- Askari, located in the city of Samarra, Saladin Governorate of Iraq. Al-Askari Shrine is situated 1½ km north of Exhibitions Street.

Samarra Barrage

The Samarra Barrage is a multi-purpose barrage on the Tigris River adjacent of Samarra and north of Baghdad, Iraq. The main purpose of the dam is to divert floodwater in the Tigris River to Lake Tharthar through the Tharthar depression along with irrigation and an 84 MW hydro-electricity station. Samarra Barrage is situated 2 km northwest of Exhibitions Street.
