Archimede Combined Cycle Power Plant

Archimede combined cycle power plant is an integrated solar combined cycle power generation plant at Priolo Gargallo near Syracuse in Sicily, Italy. The combine cycle section was inaugurated in 2003, and the solar field on 14 July 2010. Archimede Combined Cycle Power Plant is situated 600 metres southeast of Guglia di Marcello.

Thapsos was a prehistoric village in Sicily of the middle Bronze Age. It was found by the Italian archaeologist Paolo Orsi on the small peninsula of Magnisi, near Priolo Gargallo. Thapsos is situated 2½ km northeast of Guglia di Marcello.
