Jaunpur is a city in the Purvanchal part of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. A historical town with Medieval era fort, bridges and mosques. The city was founded by Feroz Shah Tughlaq and named in memory of his cousin, Jaun.

Mariahu is a town and a nagar panchayat in Jaunpur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Its name Mariahu was given by Nanwag king Naun Rao in 16th century on the name of Mandav Deo, the patreon deity of the Nanwag clan. Mariahu is situated 9 km south of Chak Kanethua.
