Shravasti, a town in northern Uttar Pradesh, was the capital of the ancient Indian kingdom of Kosala, along the Rapti River. It is one of the most revered Indian sites in Buddhism, where the Buddha lived most after his enlightenment, taught many of his sūtras and converted many of his disciples.
