Umm el-Jimal, also rendered as Umm ej Jemāl, Umm al-Jimal or Umm idj-Djimal, is a village in northern Jordan approximately 17 kilometers east of Mafraq. Umm el-Jimal is situated 4½ km southeast of Sha‘īb al Ghūl.

The Zaatari refugee camp is a refugee camp in Jordan, located 10 kilometres east of Mafraq, which has become a permanent settlement. It is the world's largest camp for Syrian refugees. Al Zaatari Refugee Camp is situated 8 km south of Sha‘īb al Ghūl.
