Ponmundam is a census town in the Malappuram district of Kerala, India. The Malappuram–Tirur state highway passes through the area. In medieval times, Ponmundam formed part of the Kingdom of Tanur. Ponmundam is situated 4 km northwest of Kadungallūr.

It is well known for Sree Vairankode Bhagavathi temple, one of the oldest and most popular Bhagavathi temples in Kerala. Vairankode is situated 4 km south of Kadungallūr.
