Piz Palü is a mountain in the Bernina Range of the Alps, located between Switzerland and Italy. It is a large glaciated massif composed of three main summits, on a ridge running from west to east.

The Bernina Pass is a high mountain pass in the Bernina Range of the Alps, in the canton of Graubünden in eastern Switzerland. It connects the famous resort town of St. Moritz in the Engadin valley with the Italian-speaking Val Poschiavo, which ends in the Italian town of Tirano in Valtellina. Bernina Pass is situated 7 km east of Vadret da la Fortezza.

Cavaglia is a small hamlet on the western flank of Val Poschiavo in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. Perched at 1,703 m on the hanging Plan da l'Alp terrace, it lies roughly 4.7 kilometres north-west of Poschiavo village but 700 metres higher, making the road distance 11 kilometres and the Bernina Line rail journey about 25 minutes. Cavaglia is situated 8 km east of Vadret da la Fortezza.
