Chengalpattu Junction railway station is an NSG–2 category Indian railway station in Chennai railway division of Southern Railway zone. It is a railway junction of the southern section of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network situated in the town of Chengalpattu, 56 kilometres south-west of Chennai Beach. Chengalpattu Junction railway station is situated 720 metres southeast of South Indian Railway.

Kolavai Lake is a lake adjoining the town of Chengalpattu in Tamil Nadu, India. The lake is located about 60 kilometres from Chennai, and is close to Paranur railway station and Chengalpattu Junction railway station. Kolavai Lake is situated 1½ km northeast of South Indian Railway.
