Thakazhy is a village in the Alappuzha district in the Indian state of Kerala. It is part of the Kuttanad region which is bound by the backwaters and located on the banks of the River Pamba.

Karumady is a village three km east of Ambalappuzha in Alappuzha district of the Indian state of Kerala. It is famous for Karumady Kuttan, the eleventh century black granite statue of Sri Buddha. The left hand side of this statue is missing. Karumady is situated 3 km west of Tagazhi.
