Abashiri City Museum of Art is a registered museum that opened in Abashiri, Hokkaidō, Japan in 1972, as the second art museum, and the first such to be purpose-built, on the island.

Okhotsk Subprefecture is a subprefecture of Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan. It was renamed from the earlier Abashiri Subprefecture on April 1, 2010. Abashiri Subprefecture was established in 1897.

Abashiri City Folk Museum opened as Kitami Kyōdo Yakata in Abashiri, Hokkaidō, Japan in 1936, making it one of the oldest museums on the island. When the museum opened, the collection comprised some three-thousand archaeological and ethnographic objects collected by Yonemura Yoshio, including items from the Moyoro Shell Mound.
