Monterey State Beach is a protected beach on southern Monterey Bay in Monterey County, California. It extends from the city of Monterey to Seaside. The Seaside end of Monterey State Beach is a popular launch spot for paragliders. Surf fishing is permitted. Monterey State Beach is situated 2½ miles southwest of City of Sand City.

Seaside High School is a school located in Seaside, California. The school first opened in September 1963 to sophomores and juniors, graduating its first class in June 1965.

The Old Custom House is the oldest surviving government building in California, built in 1827 by Mexican authorities in Monterey, then the capital of Alta California. Old Custom House is situated 2½ miles southwest of City of Sand City.
