Itauguá is a city located in the northeastern part of the Central Department of Paraguay, situated 30 km from Asunción, the country's capital. It is recognized nationally and internationally for the ñandutí, a form of traditional lacemaking, for which it is known as the "city of ñandutí". Itauguá is situated 4 km north of Ita Guasu.
