Baelo Claudia was an ancient Roman town in Hispania, located 22 kilometres outside of Tarifa, near the village of Bolonia, in southern Spain. Situated on the shore of the Strait of Gibraltar, the town began as a fishing village and trading hub when it was settled approximately 2,000 years ago. Baelo Claudia is situated 2½ km east of Playa del Cañuelo.

Bolonia is a coastal village and beach in the municipality of Tarifa in the Province of Cadiz in southern Spain. It is located on the Atlantic shore, 22.9 kilometres by road west of Tarifa, but is much closer in terms of coastal distance. Bolonia is situated 3 km east of Playa del Cañuelo.

Zahara de los Atunes is a village on the Costa de la Luz of Spain in the province of Cádiz and the autonomous region of Andalusia. It is noted for its excellent beaches, an outdoor cinema, and la Iglesia Del Carmen church where, curiously, tuna were butchered and salted. Zahara de los Atunes is situated 7 km northwest of Playa del Cañuelo.
