The South Australian Maritime Museum is a state government museum, part of the History Trust of South Australia. The museum opened in 1986 in a collection of historic buildings in the heart of Port Adelaide, South Australia's first heritage precinct. South Australian Maritime Museum is situated 300 metres east of Port Adelaide.

HMAS Encounter
Military installation
HMAS Encounter is a Royal Australian Navy naval base located in Birkenhead, South Australia. Initially in operation between 1965 and 1994, the base was recommissioned by Chief of the Navy, Vice Admiral Michael Noonan, on 28 May 2022. HMAS Encounter is situated 390 metres northwest of Port Adelaide.
