The Rahnfels is a hill in the Palatine Forest in Germany, about 2 kilometres northwest of the ruins of Hardenburg castle. With a summit height of 517 m above NN the Rahnfels is the highest point in the Palatine Forest north of the River Isenach.

The Hardenburg on the eastern edge of the Palatinate Forest near the Rhineland-Palatinate town of Bad Dürkheim is even as a ruin one of the mightiest castles of Palatinate. It was the residence of the Counts of Leiningen, who in 1725 moved to Schloss Dürkheim. Hardenburg is situated 1¼ km southeast of Burg Schlosseck.
