Seven Rila Lakes

The Seven Rila Lakes are a group of tarns—glacial lakes formed in cirques—in the northwestern part of Rila Mountain in Bulgaria. Situated between 2,100 and 2,500 metres elevation above sea level, they are the most visited group of lakes in Bulgaria. Seven Rila Lakes is situated 3½ km north of Varla.

Pastra is a small mountain village in the Rila Municipality of Kyustendil Province in south-western Bulgaria. As of 2013, it had 151 inhabitants. It lies at the western foothills of the Rila Mountains on the banks of the Rilska River just outside the borders of the Rila Monastery Nature Park. Pastra is situated 9 km southwest of Varla.
