Sopot is a Bulgarian town situated in the fertile sub-Balkan mountain valley of Karlovo, immediately below the steep southern slopes of the Troyan Balkan Mountain. Sopot is situated 9 km southwest of Malak Kupen.

Karlovo is a beautiful town of about 20,000 inhabitants in the Balkan Mountains of Bulgaria. It's best known as the birthplace of Bulgarian national hero Vasil Levski who organised an uprising against the Ottoman rule in the late 19th century.
