The Arènes de Lutèce are among the most important ancient Roman remains in Paris, together with the Thermes de Cluny. Constructed in the 1st century AD, this theatre could once seat 15,000 people and was used also as an amphitheatre to show gladiatorial combats.

The Panthéon is a monument in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, France. It stands in the Latin Quarter, on the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève, in the centre of the Place du Panthéon, which was named after it. Panthéon is situated 520 metres west of Rue des Boulangers.

The 5th Arrondissement of Paris is one of the best known of the city's central districts, located on the Left Bank of the river Seine. Also commonly known as the "Latin Quarter" because the first great Parisian university, the Sorbonne, was founded here and Latin was the language the medieval period students used once to speak.
