The Bastille was a medieval fortress in Paris, known as the Bastille Saint-Antoine. It played an important role in the internal conflicts of France and for most of its history was used as a state prison by the kings of France.

The Institut Polytechnique des Sciences Avancées is a French private grande école in aerospace engineering located at Ivry-sur-Seine, Lyon and Toulouse, recognized by the French state since 2010, whose diploma has been accredited by the French Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur since 2011.

The 4th is a good chunk of what used to be medieval Paris, and you'll find a lot left from that time on both islands and in the narrow streets of the lower Marais.

5th arrondissement

The 5th Arrondissement of Paris is one of the best known of the city's central districts, located on the Left Bank of the river Seine. Also commonly known as the "Latin Quarter" because the first great Parisian university, the Sorbonne, was founded here and Latin was the language the medieval period students used once to speak.

11th arrondissement

The 11th Arrondissement is home to two quite different but equally blossoming centres of Parisian nightlife. The streets just northwest of Place de la Bastille are full of little bars which attract a mix of young suburban Parisians, expats, and foreigners.
