Brava is an island in Cape Verde, and is part of the Sotavento group, in the central Atlantic Ocean. At 62.5 km2, it is the smallest inhabited island of the Cape Verde archipelago, but at the same time the greenest. Brava is situated 3 km west of Ribeira Grande.

Monte Fontainhas is a volcanic mountain in the middle of Brava island in Cape Verde. At 976 m elevation, it is the highest point of the island. Rock types are made up of phonolite and ignimbrite. Monte Fontainhas is situated 3 km west of Ribeira Grande.
