Saint-Fargeau is a station of the Paris Métro, serving Line 3bis. The station owes its name to its location under Place Saint-Fargeau, which was named after the politician Louis-Michel le Peletier, marquis de Saint-Fargeau who had participated in the French Revolution and was assassinated in 1793, allegedly for voting for the execution of Louis XVI. Saint-Fargeau station is situated 160 metres south of Rue Henri-Dubouillon.

The 20th arrondissement of Paris lies to the east of the centre and represents an old working-class area now in rapid transformation. Notre-Dame-des-Otages is a Roman Catholic parish church in the 20th arrondissement of Paris. It was built between 1936 and 1938 to commemorate forty-nine priests and policemen who were taken hostage and executed by the Paris Commune in 1871 during the Massacre in the Rue Haxo. Notre-Dame-des-Otages, Paris is situated 180 metres northwest of Rue Henri-Dubouillon.
