The County of Adelaide is one of the 49 cadastral counties of South Australia and contains the city of Adelaide. It was proclaimed on 2 June 1842 by Governor Grey.

Adelaide is the capital of the state of South Australia. It lies on the eastern shores of Gulf St Vincent in the central, southern part of the Australian continent.

City and North Adelaide is the central business district of Adelaide, the capital of South Australia. It's separated from the rest of Adelaide by the Adelaide Park Lands, a green belt forming a figure eight around the River Torrens, with the City to the south and North Adelaide on the other side.
