Central Uganda
The Central region is one of the four regions in the country of Uganda. As of Uganda's 2014 census, the region's population was 9,529,227. It is coterminous with the Kingdom of Buganda, one of the ancient African monarchies that are constitutionally recognised in Uganda.Essential Destinations

Kampala, the City of Seven Hills, is the capital city of Uganda and is, by a very large margin, the largest city in the country. Secondary to it is Jinja to the east and Entebbe to the south.

The Ssese Islands are an archipelago of 84 islands in the northwest of Lake Victoria, Uganda. About 43 of the islands are inhabited. The islands vary in size from less than 10,000 m², to over 40 km long for the largest island, Buggala.
