Pakse

Pakse is the relatively modern and friendly capital city of Champasak province. The transport hub of Southern Laos, Pakse is not a tourist destination in itself, but a necessary and useful stop on the tourist trail to Si Phan Don and the Bolaven Plateau, and the nearest big town to Wat Phou.

The Bolaven Plateau is an elevated region in southern Laos. Most of the plateau is located within Champasak Province of Laos, though the edges of the plateau are also located in Salavan, Sekong and Attapeu Provinces.

Champasak City is the capital of Champasak province in Laos. The main attractions are the ruins of Wat Phu, located 8 km southwest of the city.

Ban Nakasang or Nakasong, is a small riverside town in Southern Laos. It is one of the main stations for boat and bus services into and out of Don Det and Don Khon, the two most popular of the "4,000 Islands".Champasak
