Navan
Navan is the county town of County Meath, 56 km northwest of Dublin. It's now a modern place, part of the Dublin commuter belt, with limited sights or amusements.Brú Na Bóinne Archaeological Park

Brú na Bóinne is a remarkable complex of Neolithic chamber tombs, standing stones, henges and other prehistoric structures. It's by the banks of the River Boyne in County Meath, 40 km north of Dublin and 8 km west of Drogheda.
Kells

Kells is a town in County Meath, about 65 km north of Dublin, with a population in 2022 of 6600. "Kil-" or "Kells" denotes the cell or abode of a monk, so it's a common placename, but this is the one that for 800 years housed the Book of Kells.

Trim

Trim is a town in County Meath 50 km northwest of Dublin. With a population in 2022 of 9600, it's primarily a commuter town for the capital, but its castle and other historic sites point to its significance in the nation's affairs.
Ashbourne

Ashbourne is in County Meath, 22 km northwest of Dublin city centre and the airport. It's a commuter town, with a population in 2022 of 16,000. You'd probably only come to visit Emerald Park; or if you flew into Dublin in the evening it would provide an overnight stop before you drove on northwest.
Oldcastle

Oldcastle is a town in County Meath in central Ireland, with a population in 2022 of 1400. The reason to visit is the collection of prehistoric tombs at Loughcrew Cairns, which are as fine as those at better-known Newgrange but even older, and without the tourist hordes.
Slane

Slane is a village in County Meath, with a population of 1400 in 2022. It's 14 km west of Drogheda and is near several historic sites, the top attraction being Brú Na Bóinne Archaeological Park.
