The Goldfields–Esperance region is one of the nine regions of Western Australia. Leonora is a town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, located 833 kilometres northeast of the state capital, Perth, and 237 kilometres north of the city of Kalgoorlie.

Cape Arid National Park is a national park located in Western Australia, 731 kilometres southeast of Perth. The park is situated 120 kilometres east of Esperance and lies on the shore of the south coast from the eastern end of the Recherche Archipelago.
