Jammu is the largest city in the Jammu Division in India. It is the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir, sitting at a low elevation in the mainly mountainous state; Srinagar, the state's summer capital, is at a much higher elevation.

Katra, also known as Katra Vaishno Devi, is a city in the Reasi district of the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir administered by India. It is in the foothills of the Trikuta Mountains, about 42 km from the city of Jammu, and 35 km from Udhampur.

Patnitop is a small hill-station town in the Jammu Division of Jammu and Kashmir, far away from the military tension in the Kashmir Valley. Origin of the name Patnitop is a distortion of the original name of "Patan Da Talab", meaning "Pond of the Princess".
