Kazanlak is a city in Central , in a valley south of the , on the road to the historic Shipka Pass. It's famous as the center of Bulgaria's rose oil industry, and the surrounding area abounds with ancient tombs, one of which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The is a vaulted-brickwork "beehive" tomb that is located near the town of Kazanlak in central . The tomb is part of a large royal Thracian necropolis in the Valley of the Thracian Rulers near their ancient capital of Seuthopolis in a region where more than a thousand tombs of royalty and members of the Thracian aristocracy can be found.
