Pico Ruivo is the highest peak on Madeira Island and the third highest in Portugal, standing at 1,861 metres in the Santana municipality. Accessible only by foot, it can be reached from either Pico do Areeiro or via a shorter, easier trail from Achada do Teixeira. Pico Ruivo is situated 3 km northeast of PR2.

Pico do Areeiro, at 1,818 m high is a mountain located on the Portuguese island and autonomous region of Madeira, the third highest on the island. Situated within the mountainous interior of the island roughly halfway between the northern and southern coasts. Pico do Areeiro is situated 3½ km east of PR2.

Pico das Torres

Pico das Torres is the second highest peak on the Atlantic island of Madeira, Portugal. It lies roughly midway between the Pico Ruivo and Pico do Arieiro at an elevation of 1,853 metres and is only accessible from the trail between these two peaks. Pico das Torres is situated 3 km east of PR2.
