The 1,873-metre tall mountain is located in the Jotunheimen mountains about 11 kilometres southeast of the village of Fossbergom and about 20 kilometres southwest of the village of Vågåmo. Ilvetjørnhøe is situated 2½ km southeast of Sauhøe.
