Villa Kujoyama is a multidisciplinary research and creative residency located on Mount Higashi in Kyoto. Built in 1992 by architect Katō Kunio, and initiated by the Société de rapprochement intellectuel franco-japonais, Villa Kujoyama is today one of the oldest and most prestigious French residency programs in Asia.| Tap on a place to explore it |

Nanzen-ji, or Zuiryusan Nanzen-ji, formerly Zenrin-ji, is a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto, Japan. Emperor Kameyama established it in 1291 on the site of his previous detached palace. Nanzen-ji is situated 740 metres north of Villa Kujoyama.

Some of the most picturesque parts of Kyoto are located in Higashiyama, the eastern region of the city, across the Kamo River. Kyoto Gyoen National Garden is a 65-hectare national garden of Japan that was established after the Japanese capital was transferred from Kyoto to Tokyo. It is situated around the Kyoto Imperial Palace. Kyōto-Gyoen is situated 3½ km northwest of Villa Kujoyama.
