Madame Arthur is the first gender-twist cabaret in France, opened in 1946, taking its name from the famous song written in 1860 by Paul de Kock and performed by Yvette Guilbert.

Moulin Rouge is a cabaret in Paris, on the Boulevard de Clichy, at the Place Blanche, the intersection and end of the Rue Blanche. In 1889, the Moulin Rouge was co-founded by Charles Zidler and Joseph Oller, who also owned the Paris Olympia. Moulin Rouge is situated 550 metres west of Le Salon de Madame Arthur.
