Táliga or Talega is a Spanish town and municipality located near the border with Portugal, in the province of Badajoz, in the Spanish autonomous community of Extremadura. Portugal considers Táliga, as well as neighbouring Olivenza, a de jure part of the Portuguese concelho of Olivenza, occupied by Spain since 1801. Táliga is situated 6 km west of Mata de Albarrán.

Barcarrota is a Spanish municipality in the province of Badajoz, Extremadura. It has a population of 3,664 and an area of 136.1 km². Barcarrota was the location of the Battle of Villanueva de Barcarrota, in which Castilian troops decisively defeated a Portuguese army. Barcarrota is situated 10 km east of Mata de Albarrán.
