Bataclan

The Bataclan is a theatre located at 50 Boulevard Voltaire in the of , France. Designed in 1864 by the architect Charles Duval, its name refers to Ba-ta-clan, an operetta by Jacques Offenbach.

The Bastille was a medieval fortress in , known as the Bastille Saint-Antoine. It played an important role in the internal conflicts of France and for most of its history was used as a state prison by the kings of France. is situated 1¼ km south of Bataclan.

The Cirque d'Hiver, located at 110 rue Amelot, has been a prominent venue for circuses, exhibitions of dressage, musical concerts, and other events, including exhibitions of Turkish wrestling and even fashion shows. is situated 230 metres west of Bataclan.
