Zgorzelec is a town in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in southwestern Poland, with 30,374 inhabitants. It is the seat of Zgorzelec County and of Gmina Zgorzelec.

Görlitz is Germany's easternmost town. It sits across the Neiße River from its Polish sister city of Zgorzelec. It is very well preserved, and survived the Second World War more or less intact.
