Ormos Egialis is also called Aegiali and is the second port of Amorgos. It is set in a large sweeping bay, providing a view from Tholaria and the Aegialis Hotel above. There are frequent ferries to and from Piraeus, as well as a daily ferry to Naxos. Aegiali bus stop is situated 130 metres west of ΜΕΛΑΝΙΑ.

Aegiale or Aigiale and Aegialen, also known as Begialis, was an ancient town on the island of Amorgos. The site of Aegiale is located near modern Tholaria. Aegiale is situated 2 km north of ΜΕΛΑΝΙΑ.
