The Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, commonly referred to as HNK Zagreb, is a theatre, opera, and ballet house in Zagreb. Located on the centre of Republic of Croatia Square, it is the oldest Croatian theatre institution, officially opening on 24 November 1860. The theatre opened on October 30, 1954 as the successor of "Helios" cinema which was founded and financed by Croatian industrialist, Adolf Müller.
