Pollentia was a Roman city founded by Quintus Caecilius Metellus Balearicus in the present city of Alcúdia, allegedly in the year 123 BC. The first documented remains belong, however, to the first half of the 1st century BC.

Port de Pollença is a small town on the coast of the Serra de Tramuntana region of Mallorca. It's the most northerly town on the island. The Roman port of Pollentia was further southeast by present-day Alcúdia, but came under seaborne attack so they moved inland to Pollença.

Pollença is a town in the Serra de Tramuntana region of northeast Mallorca, with a well-preserved old centre. In 2023 the population was 17,300, but this includes Port de Pollenca and the rugged headland of Formentor, separately described.
