The Lake Biwa Museum is in Shiga Prefecture, Japan. It was founded in 1996. The theme of the museum is "relationship between lakes and people" and introduces the nature and culture of Lake Biwa, the largest and oldest lake in Japan. Lake Biwa Museum is situated 500 metres west of Mizunomori Water Botanical Garden.

The temple was founded in the Hakuho period and its grounds were designated a National Historic Site in 2004. Ashiura Kannon-ji is situated 2 km southeast of Mizunomori Water Botanical Garden.
