Itsukushima Shrine is a Shinto shrine on the island of Itsukushima, best known for its "floating" torii. It is in the city of Hatsukaichi, in Hiroshima Prefecture in Japan, accessible from the mainland by ferry at Miyajimaguchi Station. Itsukushima Shrine is situated 190 metres north of Itsukushima Shrine Museum.

The aquarium is accredited as a Museum-equivalent facility by the Museum Act from Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Miyajima Public Aquarium is situated 280 metres west of Itsukushima Shrine Museum.
