South Bass Island Light is a lighthouse on the southern end of its eponymous island in Lake Erie. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on April 5, 1990 and is thought to be the only lighthouse in the United States owned by a university - Ohio State. United States Coast Guard Station Lighthouse is situated 1,100 feet west of Miller Ferry.

The approach to Runway 21 is complicated by Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial, which is almost exactly in line with the runway; pilots are asked to respect special procedures to avoid the monument.

Starve Island is an island of the U.S. state of Ohio located in Lake Erie. The 2-acre island is about a mile south of South Bass Island. In normal weather conditions it is visible for only a mile or two, as some rocks and a few shrubs poking up from the lake, and is the second smallest of the Lake Erie Islands.
