Ibarra is a city in Ecuador. It's a colonial town of 100,000 inhabitants and the capital of Imbabura province, and is halfway to the Ecuador-Colombia border at Tulcán.

The Chota is the upper river valley of the Mira River in Ecuador. The small villages along it are usually referred to as 'El Chota', and it runs east–west between the two ranges of the Andes. Chota is situated 10 km northeast of El Bosque.
