Chapultepec

Chapultepec is a district of Mexico City. "Chapultepec" means "Grasshopper Hill" in Nahuatl, the language of the "Aztecs". The hill and surrounding district has much significance in Mexican history.

The Angel of Independence, most commonly known by the shortened name El Ángel and officially known as Monumento a la Independencia, is a victory column on a roundabout on the major thoroughfare of Paseo de la Reforma in downtown Mexico City. The Fountain of Cybele in Mexico City is a bronze statue installed in Colonia Roma in 1980, and refurbished in 2011. A symbol of brotherhood between the Spanish and Mexican communities, it is a replica of the fountain located in the Plaza de Cibeles in Madrid that was built by architect Ventura Rodríguez between 1777 and 1792. Fuente de Cibeles is situated 280 metres north of Hostel Home.
